Biggest challenge: Losing steam, losing the thread of motivation, scrapping the thing after 30-50 pages - not deleting, but just setting it aside and losing interest (we've talked about this before.) None of it's easy! Without the writing bug, though, I'm not sure anyone would keep going...

I agree. This is where writing groups are beneficial. (However, I've recently joined an author's grouping and it does not feel like my tribe in the slightest, so interestingly, this was the post scheduled for this week. Ignoring literary snobbery is a new challenge!) The Universe is telling me something I already know, I need to protect my peace. Troy, I'm revisiting works like you mention today. I'm going to ask the characters for directions. See where it leads. To anyone else, other than a writer, this might sound a tad...mad.

Splendid! Throw a party - get those characters drunk and see what they say - let me know how it goes... As I've officially had my only remaining unpublished story go live at Bewildering Stories yesterday, I should get on the stick and repackage some of those oldies asap.

Magically Troy my new publisher is looking for edits (as they've come through in the last few days.) Kinda cool. I love the saying 'I should get on the stick'. Get those old stories repackaged!
