Notebooks
Do you love'em?
Hi lovelies,
There are over 80 of ye darling people here. If you’re a steady reader of my ramblings, thank you very very much. If you’re not, thank you for subscribing and checking out the occasional post. I appreciate every last one of ye.
For newbies, I’ve been a full-time writer for the last twelve years. This newsletter aims to build a community on Substack called Notestack. (Isn’t everyone doing the same). I’ve built Facebook groups and Tweet-chats, and here I am Substacking and believing in magic.

My Week
Feck all writing.
Reading
Library Books. I love our local library. I can stroll there and love browsing.
I’m reading The Streets of Laredo by Sam Keery. I picked this for the brevity and other reasons I can no longer recall. It’s sittin’ on my desk staring at me to resume reading.
The Wager by David Granin is about the factual events of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder. The detail in this researched novel is amazing but I’m not in the headspace for this level of accuracy.

NoteStack Sunday
Do you have notebooks? Considering this is NoteStack, I’ve been thinking about notebooks. Can we discuss the use of stationery?
Is your stationery stationary? In my hopeful cleverness, I wonder if your notebooks are for display purposes. Or do you write in them? Are some too nice to use?
I must have about twenty. All in various states of use. Each contains many variations of a few WIPs. There is no organization or method to their use. I don’t have a favorite! I’ve realized I’m not biased. I use them all almost equally. I’m too glad about this. There is no notebook feeling unloved. Thank the gods.
I aim to use a new set this week. I love having fresh notebooks. A new one brings a special magic. A sense of beginnings and hope. This one has a nice cover with a magnetic clasp and holds four separate pads in one. A chance at four beginnings in one neat pile. Bliss
Some writers use digital notes on their devices and phones. I still need to scribble on paper. I use Post-its for reminders but my notebooks contain solid ideas or handwritten chapters, characters, and stories.
Do you have a favorite notebook? Is it in use?
Let’s talk about Notebooks on NoteStack. The button is below. A photo of your notebooks would also be great! Do you love notebooks?
Thank you for being here.

Despite what I already said, and stickers etc., yes, also I have several notebooks that are just too nice to write in just yet, at some point they'll be the only thing at hand and I'll take the plunge, either that, or when I croak, people will say, Dear me, a hoarder of pretty notebooks.
