Hi,
If you’re new here, I’ve been a full-time writer for twelve years. This newsletter aims to build a community on Substack called Notestack. (Isn’t everyone doing the same). I’ve built Facebook groups and Tweet-chats, and here I am Substacking and believing in magic.
My Week
Emailed my editor with Novella 4 (Angel’s Hot St Patrick’s Day). Now what will she think?
Waited to see my new cover for Novella 3. And then realized I’d not filled out the information on the author portal fully. I’ll have to wait some more.
Peeked at my short film script and shut it again. I need to read more scripts
Fully edited my Viking Romance for the hundredth-millionth time. Final, final, final version
Considered what to do with this manuscript, before I do another re-write.
Reading
Ordered Siobhan Davis’ latest dark romance. Her work and marketing are amazing

What do you use to build your confidence?
Writing can build and also drain your confidence. Writing is my happy place. However, waiting on validation can crush.
Meditation works for me.
Walking in nature does.
Being with my writing groups
Writing helps
Pressing send sometimes is nice
Hearing my work is accepted somewhere is extra good
Someone liking or commenting on a substack post. Hint hint ;)
Chatting with others on Notestack. Maybe check if the button below is working. :)
How is your confidence right now?
Have you pivoted your substack since you started? Are you happy with the change?
Are you in the dip of a rollercoaster or at the top of a curve?
Maybe you stay balanced?
If not, have you noticed what perks you up?
Is there something you do to maintain or build your confidence? Thanks for Notestacking x
Congrats on all your work and your successes.
Myself? I'm still confused now that Substack has changed and I guess people don't write posts anymore, they write notes? I did one last night but was irritated at not being able to insert my photo that I wanted to use to illustrate it. Also, I work only from my Ipad, which really makes finding things hard.
I concentrate more on my WP blog because I understand how it works and how I can work it from my ipad. I hope to post more on my stacks as I figured it out.
