Hello my lovelies,
Substack is huge. And it’s getting bigger by the day. When I joined Twitter it was well-established and I didn’t know how it worked. Instagram too. Substack three.
Hence, I thought I’d share some Substacks I’ve stumbled across and free subscribe to. This will no doubt take you off and away from mine. EEK! But that’s okay if you promise to come back. :)
I don’t want to tag successful writers so they’ll notice me. That’s a bit icky. I aim to save you time. I scrolled and found some gems and I like to share my discoveries.
TOP NOTCH is…
is a great read and an all-round fabulous fella. I enjoy all of his offerings. Check him out first off, please.Using the search box take a peek at —
Claire Venus and Russell Nohelty. They are up to a massive amount of work collaboratively and individually. To cover it all would be impossible for me.
Substack Writers at Work is also astounding; everything from headline help to reams of excellent material.
Hype Yourself — I’ve just recently discovered. Wow!
Publishers are also starting here, but seem to be in fantasy/magical world-building stuff. Stardust Press oh… Suspension of This Belief,
SubstackXPublishing.
Small Stack which is a library of smaller publications.
Irish writers Louise O’Neill and Sarah Breen are Substackers now.
- is amazing.
The Inkwell is also a new discovery.
I’m learning how to use notes, and there are even more new features I need to get to grips with. If you’re new here — or not so new — you’re not alone in finding this a daunting spot.
Let me know of Substacks you have found interesting, entertaining, or whatever…
@mrtroyford ‘stacks are inclusive and nourishing…but, if you were to take a look at all the illustration/animation and poetry you’d find all of them worth your time. I’m a librarian and we can’t help but push content towards people.
As someone who is bi-racial, I would want to see more racially diverse voices. So, I’m looking for deepness, richness and things I can chew on.
Ah thanks for that Sharon .. really appreciate it. And yes, substack is becoming a very big place and can be overwhelming at times…. Thanks so much again xx
